StorageSync Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 October 2026
By creating an account or using StorageSync (the "Service") you agree to these terms.
- The Service. StorageSync stores files you encrypt on your devices and keeps them in sync across your devices. We provide the storage; you provide and hold the keys.
- Your keys, your responsibility. Your data is encrypted with keys derived from your password and protected by a recovery code shown once at sign-up. If you lose both, your data is permanently unrecoverable. We cannot reset your password in a way that preserves your data, and we will never ask for your password or recovery code.
- Acceptable use. You may not use the Service to store or share content that is illegal, infringes others' rights, or is used to harm others, and you may not attempt to disrupt the Service or other users. Because we cannot inspect content, enforcement is reactive: we act on reports about public links and on account-level signals (rate abuse, payment fraud), and may disable links or accounts accordingly.
- Public links. Links you create can be opened by anyone who holds them. You are responsible for what you share and for revoking links you no longer want public.
- Availability. We aim for high availability but provide the Service "as is" without warranties. Keep local copies of anything irreplaceable; sync is a convenience, not a backup guarantee beyond the version history and trash retention described in the apps (30 days).
- Plans and storage. Storage limits are shown in the app. Uploads beyond your quota are rejected with a clear message. Paid plans, if offered, are billed in advance and prorated on change; refunds follow the platform's rules (App Store or our payment provider). Plans are for personal and business file storage. Each plan includes a monthly transfer allowance (Free 40 GB, Starter 800 GB, Plus 3 TB, Pro 12 TB); shared and public link downloads stop for the rest of the month once it is used up, while your own sync and downloads keep working. Resale of storage or operating a public file-hosting/download service is not permitted.
- Termination. You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, with notice where lawful. On deletion we remove your ciphertext and metadata within 30 days.
- Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Changes. We may update these terms; continued use after a posted update is acceptance.
